elcome to the Town of Diamondville website. As the mayor, it is exciting for me to walk you through our town, page by page, and give you a glimpse at the wonderful place we live in. Our community is rich in history and bursting with hope and ideas for our future. So, welcome again, and let’s begin our walk.

Local government. Allow me to introduce you to one of the best councils a community could have.

Mayor- Megan Mccloud
Picture – Shaylee, Megan, and Taylor
Hobbies –I enjoy gardening, doing hair, shopping and spending time with my family

My name is Megan Mccloud and I am the new mayor of Diamondville. I have lived in Diamondville for 31 years. I own a beauty shop named "Designing Women". It is located in neighboring Kemmerer for the past 11 years.
I have 2 daughters. Shaylee is 9 years old and in the 4th grade. Taylor is 6 years old and is in kindergarten.

I would like to make Diamondville a better place to live by encouraging growth and new development. I would like to make everyone feel welcome to attend the council meetings and I would also like to establish better relationships with our neighboring communities.

Dan Dean – Council
Picture – Ryan, Amanda, Dan & Carol
Hobbies – Volunteer for the Kemmerer Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-five years, twenty-six years with the Lincoln County Search & Rescue, and lots of time completing wife’s “honey do’s”

First, we have Dan Dean, a talented engineer who devotes a lot of time to making our community better and safer. He is the president of the council and has spent many hours fighting fires, helping with rescues, and working on various town projects. He is a vocal advocate for the people of Diamondville and never makes a hasty decision.

Dan began working for the town in 1976 as a consultant engineer. He became Diamondville’s Building Inspector in 1991, and started serving as a councilman on January 2001. Dan moved his family to Diamondville in 1981.

Charlene Smith – Council
Picture – Lonnie (Pete) & Charlene
Hobbies – Hunting, hiking, fishing, camping & being with my grandchildren.

An extremely active woman, Char Smith not only runs her own business in Diamondville, but she also attends multiple committee and organizational meetings. She is the chair of the Diamondville Development and Promotion Board, and has formed a group of citizens under the direction of the Wyoming Department of Transportation that has taken over the responsibility of keeping the right of way of US Highway 30 N clean. Not only that, but she has extended the project of cleaning to other areas of our town as well.

Charlene began serving on the town council on January 2003. She wanted to learn more about local government. She said that Diamondville had done a lot for her, and she thought maybe she could do something for Diamondville. Charlene and her husband moved to Diamondville in 1983. She said it was the best move they ever made. They started a dry cleaning business in 1994 and have changed it to a Laundromat with drop- off dry cleaning.

Quote – “You could not ask for a better place to raise children. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. It is a very close-knit community. Owning a business in Diamondville has been a very rewarding opportunity.”

Ben Carotta – Council
Picture – Ben Carotta
Hobbies
Ben enjoys being a Youth Minister for St. Patrick’s CYO, as well as all the activities in the great outdoors in this magnificent state of Wyoming that he feels blessed to call home

Ben was born and raised in the mining community fondly called “Fronier”. He moved to Diamondville in 1973, shortly after he started working for the FMC Coke Plant. He worked there until the plant’s closure in 2001 and is currently employed with Lincoln County School District #1 in the Maintenance Department.

Ben began serving on the Council in September of 2004. He feels that everyone should take a turn at serving his or her community in some way; so that is why he decided to seek a council position. He will render his decisions with an open mind and an ear for both sides of all situations. Ben looks forward to serving the Town of Diamondville..

Quote – The only gift that I can give is of my time. My Noni, (grandmother) taught me always that a true gift is a gift shared.”
